Something feels off and that's exactly God's Point

You’re not ungrateful. Let’s just start there, because I know that’s the first place your mind goes when you feel it, — the feeling of something is missing in the middle of a life that looks completely fine from the outside. Maybe even more than fine. You have the job. The family. The faith. The routines that keep everything moving. People look at your life and say, “She’s doing so well.” And the honest truth is... you are. You really are.
But there’s this feeling. This quiet unsettledness that shows up in the middle of an ordinary Tuesday. In the pause after you accomplish something you worked hard for. In the car, in the silence, when nobody needs anything from you for five whole minutes.
Something whispers: There’s more. Real talk, That whisper isn’t anxiety. It isn’t ingratitude. It isn’t some sign that you’re broken or that what you’ve built doesn’t matter. That whisper is God.
The Feeling Has a Name
Unsettledness in the middle of achievement is one of the most misread signals women carry. We’re taught to fix feelings. Push through them. Reframe them into motivation and keep going.
But what if this one isn’t asking you to move faster — what if it’s asking you to stop? There’s a difference between restlessness and readiness. Restlessness makes you grab the next thing without thinking, just to fill the space. Readiness makes you pause because you know deep down that what’s coming next requires something you don’t fully have yet. God doesn’t rush His next chapters. And He won’t let you rush through them either. Not if you’re paying attention.
This is not the season for guessing. This is not the time to just do something because doing something feels more faithful than waiting. Hear me out, activity is not always alignment. You can be busy in the wrong direction and wonder why nothing is bearing fruit.
Let God lead you into the season He’s actually calling you into: surrender, trust, and transformation. In that order. Don’t skip the surrender trying to get to the transformation.
What to Do While You’re Waiting for What’s Next
Ask Him. That’s not a soft answer but a real one. Before you Google, before you map out a five-year plan, before you ask your mentor, your spouse, or your best friend what they think you should do next — ask God what’s next.
“What are you preparing me for, and what do I need to do now to get ready?” That prayer changes things. And while you’re in the posture of waiting, listening, and leaning in, start paying attention to yourself in a way you probably haven’t in a while. Track your feelings. Write them down. Not to analyze them to death, but because your emotions are data. They’re telling you something about where you are and where you’re being called. Notice the “something told me” moments. The nudge you got and ignored. The idea that keeps coming back. The door you keep walking past without opening. The thing you keep saying “one day” about. That’s not coincidence. That’s the Holy Spirit. He’s been guiding you longer than you’ve been listening for Him, and He’ll keep doing it but there’s something powerful about the moment you start writing it down. When you track it, you start to see the pattern. And the pattern tells the story of where God has been leading you all along.
What God Starts, He Finishes
I want you to sit with this for a second: the work God has started in you will continue to bear fruit. Not might. Not hopefully. Will. The version of you that feels unsettled right now is not behind. You’re not broken. You’re not someone who missed her window. You are a woman in the middle of a becoming, and becomings are rarely comfortable. Seeds don’t sprout in the light. They break open in the dark, underground, where nobody can see what’s happening yet. You are not dormant. You are preparing. So walk boldly, not because you have all the answers, but because you serve the One who does. Live fully not waiting until things are figured out to actually show up in your own life. And let God’s grace guide every step. Because grace means you don’t have to earn the next season. You just have to trust the One who’s already in it. The unsettled feeling isn’t a problem to solve. It’s an invitation to go deeper. And you, sis? You are more than ready to accept it.
Before You Close This Tab...Grab your journal or your Notes app and sit with these questions. Don’t rush them.
Reflect:
• When was the last time I felt truly aligned like what I was doing matched who I know I’m called to be? What was present in that season?
• What feeling or nudge have I been dismissing lately that keeps coming back anyway?
• If I asked God “What do I need to do now to prepare for what’s next?” and I actually believed He’d answer what do I think He’d say? There’s no wrong answer. It’s just you, being honest, and God, being faithful. That’s enough to start.
Until next time — walk boldly, live fully.
With love, LaToya
